The Academy of Applied Martial Arts is a Veteran owned and operated school of martial arts. The Academy of Applied Martial Arts was established in 2001 with a goal of providing quality karate training to the kids and adults of our community.

The Academy of Applied Martial Arts offers a diverse range of programs designed to meet the needs of individuals and organizations alike. Our Traditional Karate Training program emphasizes the disciplined practice of ancient martial arts techniques, fostering physical conditioning and mental focus for students of all ages and skill levels. For those seeking practical self-defense skills, our Combatives program provides real-world training in striking, grappling, and situational awareness. We also offer Security Guard Certification Training, a comprehensive course that equips participants with the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in security, including threat assessment and emergency response. Our Personal Defense Training empowers individuals with easy-to-learn, effective techniques to protect themselves in everyday situations. Additionally, our Corporate Defense and Safety Seminars are tailored to help businesses enhance the safety and well-being of their employees through customized training on workplace violence prevention, situational awareness, and emergency response strategies.
This is a small studio, but we absolutely love the atmosphere. The instructor is very welcoming to all students. My four year old was accepted and has really begun to do well even after just a few months. The other parents are kind. They hold a class on Saturday, so I have the opportunity to take my son. My son loves it here. Go tiger cubs!
My husband has also joined the Iron Tiger class. He enjoys it and loves learning the skills to support our son.

My daughter wanted to learn martial arts after watching Mulan. I honestly didn’t think she was going to like it but I signed her up at a different studio and we had a bad experience. I was ready to write the whole thing off as a bad job when I found this dojo. Our experience here has been wonderful and welcoming. The instructor as well as the older students and parents have been welcoming and encouraging to my daughter. She is now a yellow belt and wants her green. I am sure we will be here for many years to come.

I've been here for almost 4 years and I have to say the amount of professionalism that comes from the instructors is astounding. Everyone who helps in the dojo gives it their all because they care about the environment and the students. They teach anyone and they make everyone feel welcome whether they've been there or they are new. The head instructor cares about making his students strong. This way you aren't just strong during a workout but strong in everyday life. If I hadn't joined and stayed when it got tough I wouldn't be the person I am today. Whether you're interested or you've been to a dojo before this is a place for everyone.
